This 4-week course will introduce you to both restorative and dynamic aerial yoga. We believe this is a practice that's suitable for EVERY body. This course allows 15 years and older to attend.

AERIAL YOGA BASICS
The class is less about fitness level and more an introduction to a new experience. In this Aerial Yoga class one learns the basic wraps, grips and traps, the basis of the practice, while becoming familiar with the hammock and inversions.
AERIAL YOGA BEGINNER
This class is appropriate for anyone whether or not you have previous yoga experience. This is an all-levels class that will leave you feeling free and light. The class starts with a warm-up on your yoga mat including stretching, The hammock is used as a prop to help you work through a series of standing postures and planks allowing you to build heat, strength, and flexibility. Class concludes with savasana in the hammock for a truly blissful experience of being wrapped in silk, feeling safe and fully supported. Come experience the fun and freedom of aerial yoga!
AERIAL YOGA YIN - DEEP STRETCH
Do you sit at a desk all day? Are you a runner, cyclist, golfer, athlete of any kind? Do you need to chill and relax? This class is for you! Sink into a deep meditative state as you honor your entire system with beautiful deep stretches that are a complement to any other type of yoga or fitness. Many yoga styles focus on building muscle. This class makes your muscles say, “Ahhhhh”, as you unwind tightness. No flips and tricks.
AERIAL YOGA MEDITATION
In this class, students will experience a complete reboot of their day. The class consist of 10 minutes of gentle stretching followed by 40 minutes of meditation or napping, complete with blankets, and is designed to reinvigorate the mind and the body. The Meditation class whether as a post-workout recovery, or as a well-deserved break from the grind is sure to leave you revived and energized.
AERIAL YOGA RESTORATIVE
A healing, placid class, in which body and mind are focused to restore spirit and vitality. Perfect for athletes in recovery mode, this class features rehabilitative techniques and incorporates levitating meditations, joint opening poses and a floating savasana (cocoon). You will feel the blissful feeling of “floating”! - Hammock is about 3 inches off the ground.
AERIAL FLOW YOGA | Experience Required
This class integrates the hammock with a traditional yoga flow class. Take your Yoga practice and poses to the next level by using the hammock as a prop to take your backbends deeper, getting a deep tissue massage in your forward folds and downward dogs and using it as a spotter in all of your inversions and arm balances. Discover ananda (blissful joy) in levitating meditations and increase your own awareness in this ground-breaking new genre of yoga.
AERIAL YOGA UPSIDE DOWN | Experience Required
In this playful, high energy class, you will invert! Aerial Flow Yoga combines vinyasa flow yoga and silk hammocks to create a practice that is full of movement, playfulness and freedom. With the support of the hammocks, advanced poses such as Handstand, headstand, shoulder stand and peacock pose become easily accessible to all. This class moves at a faster pace, and will include inversions. For most people we recommend that you attend our Intro to Aerial Yoga: 4-week course before this class, but if inversions are your thing, and you have a strong yoga practice this class is appropriate for you. You need to be totally comfortable with the hammock and being upside down. Elevate your yoga practice with the support of the aerial silk hammock.

Aerial Yoga incorporates silk hammocks into a traditional yoga class to raise your attitude to a whole new altitude. Aerial yoga is suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced yogis. The hammock is a great and safe way to learn balancing poses by having something to hold on to for support. In traditional yoga classes on the floor, only a small number of students are able to do advanced poses, such as scorpion or handstand, which are a result of many years of yoga practice, dedication and endurance. The beauty of this style of yoga is 95% of students can do these advanced poses in the hammock in their first or second class! Aerial yoga is the easiest, most effective tool to use while building up the strength, stamina and endurance to progress towards a standing floor pose if that is what you are aiming for.
Online registration is required a minimum of 2 hours in advance of class time. Please arrive 10 minutes before the class start time to get your hammock adjusted to your height. We are unable to accommodate late arrivals, because it takes time to set up hammocks and it is a distraction to the instructor and other class members. Our aerial yoga classes usually sell out so we PLEASE educate yourself on our late cancel/no show policies. Here are guidelines to make your aerial yoga class more enjoyable:
Anyone with the following conditions should seek medical advice before pursuing aerial yoga: Pregnancy, glaucoma, recent surgery (esp. shoulder, eyes, back, hips, hands or wrist), heart disease, very high or low blood pressure, motion sickness, easy onset vertigo, osteoporosis / bone weakness, recent head injury, cerebral sclerosis, propensity for fainting, carpal tunnel syndrome, severe arthritis, sinusitis or head cold, hiatal hernia, disc herniation or acute discogenic disease, recent stroke, artificial hips, radiculitis (inflammation of nerve root in spine), severe muscle spasms, botox injections (within 6 hours).
Aerial Yoga Benefits Yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar believes that inversions allow the body to purge impurities, which facilitates strength, firmness, calmness and clarity of mind. Also in yoga, Ayurveda promotes the regular practice of inversions based upon the theoretical concept that many of the impurities in our body are held in the lower abdominal area. When you invert the body and raise your feet above your head, you allow gravity to move these impurities towards our agni (fire), which is located in our digestive tract (just above our lower abdomen). By allowing these impurities (which were previously stuck) to move to your agni (which will burn them off), you’ll be able to breathe deeper and improve your health. In yoga, the benefits of inversions are based on the principles of opposite process and the concept that inversions provide a way of looking at the world from a different physical viewpoint to facilitate a different perspective. Inversions alter the flow of cerebral spinal fluid, and allow blood to drain from the lower body to allow fresh blood to cycle throughout the tissues and organs of the body. There are numerous benefits to a regular inversion practice!!!...

AIDS IN DIGESTION... When you invert your body you allow the stool that is moving from the ileocecal valve through the ascending colon to move with the force of gravity. The pressing of the stool against the intestinal walls also encourages movement and the pressure on the walls of the digestive tract stimulates a stronger peristalsis (muscle contractions that occur in your digestive tract).
IMPROVES IMMUNITY... Inversions help to stimulate lymphatic cleansing and drainage which clears toxins from the tissues and plays a vital role in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the immune system.
PROMOTES SOUNDER SLEEP & AIDS IN INSOMNIA... A study conducted by LJ Nose found that EMG activity (a measure of muscle tension) declined by more than 35 percent within 10 seconds of inverting. Muscle tension can contribute to feelings of anxiety as well as insomnia so it’s important to flush it from your body.Changing your perspective can change everything, and sometimes it’s just a matter of literally turning things upside-down! Learn to be more present through mindful consciousness while creating a deeper state of inner awareness.
Aerial Yoga students should come to class 10 minutes before class time.
Masks: A mask covering your nose and mouth in required to enter our space and in all common areas. Once you get to your mat and will remain on your mat you may remove it if you want. Masks are NOT required during class. After class masks are required until you exit our building.
